First time I’ve used a reciprocating saw: This is my first.
Because I wanted it to make my half-acre property look better, I bought it.
Before this, I used hand loppers and hedge trimmers, but I needed a bigger tool to cut bigger branches off fruit trees and shrubs.
I also wanted something to use when I made simple planters out of pallet wood for my garden, so I looked for tools.
I saw that there was a saw that didn’t have a charger or a battery pack.
A separate 20V battery and charger, as well as the saw, would have cost more than this kit, which comes with all three. It also comes with a starter blade.

There were no problems with the unit when it arrived, and all the parts were in the package.
Instructions are good, but not great.
As long as you’ve used these kinds of hand tools before, there should be no problem. But if you look at the diagrams, especially for how to insert the blade and lock it in place, some people might get lost.
You don’t have to read very much to put it together. If you read slowly and take your time, you’ll be done in no time!
However, I would not put the battery on the saw when you are installing the blade. This is because it could be dangerous.
I have a BD 20V drill, and the battery that comes with it works with this tool, too.
I was a little worried that the battery would run out quickly when I was cutting. I’m happy to say that the battery lasted longer than I did with the tool!

Cut the wood in a straight line against a plate.
As a bonus, you get an extra blade with the kit that has about 4-5″ of saw blade. This blade can easily cut through limbs that are about 2.5” wide.
With a flip-lock, you can keep the blade in the saw. It’s on the left side next to the blade.
The battery adds about 12 pounds to the weight of the whole thing.
I’m a 50-year-old woman who was able to use it for about 40 minutes before realizing I had been. It didn’t hurt me to use it.
I think most people would be happy with the tool’s size and weight.
If you keep in mind its limitations and basic safety rules (like wearing eye protection and not sawing toward your body or feet), you should be able to get a lot of good use out of this tool.
