a few weeks ago, I bought an old Delta scroll saw off of Craigslist. The blade changes are so time-consuming and difficult that I wanted something that would speed up the process of making inside cuts. I thought this looked like a good, well-reviewed first saw, so I decided to buy it. Came with a blade already put together. All that was needed to start was some tightening and adjusting. It was hard to get the tension mechanism to work again after I made my first cut, so I read the instructions very carefully. After I threaded the blade for an inside cut, the mechanism broke a spring. In fact, the lever also bent without a lot of pressure as he tried to get back to lock.
During cutting, I also had problems with the foot guard coming up at an angle, even though I used a drill to try to tighten the screw as much as I could. I don’t know whether this is a design flaw or something else that’s broken. I ordered a replacement and I’ll write a new review when the new one comes in. Hope this saw isn’t so cheap that it can’t be used!
