:::::::::::::. Size doesn’t tell you how powerful it is. In my “grab-and-go” tool bag, I keep it with the most reliable and important tools that I use most. Since this package came, I’ve been using the bag that came with it all the time. It’s made of canvas and looks like it will last a long time.
Malita has three different modes that you can choose from, and the trigger can be used to change the speed in all three. An assist mode that starts out slow and easy, then speeds up as it senses more resistance. It does this by increasing the speed, torque, and impact as it gets faster. Cool.
There is a work light that has a delay and lights on the batteries to show when they need to be charged again. Batteries charge very quickly on the Makita charger that comes with the tool. I haven’t timed how long it takes to charge, but it seems like an hour or less to me. One battery comes with it.
You can use 1/4″ impact bits with quick release notch in the chuck to make it easy to get the bits out of the chuck. Need a bit holder for 1″ bits. Some people might say that this chuck is not a “true” quick release because you have to pull it out to insert a bit. A lot of other models don’t let you just push bits in, like they do on other models.
I think this little Makita is great. People who go to a lot of jobs in a day, handymen and DIYers, and people who have small hands or limited upper body strength should use this.
