“Another challenge with thin blades is size of band saw. The larger saw designed for 10-12″+ re-saw, all use larger blade guides/bearings; than smaller/older cast iron 12-14” saws. Bring the Saw Blade Stabilizer forward into contact with the back of the blade and then a bit more.

Her recommendation concerning blades reasonably flies within the face of standard power saw knowledge she recommends a 3/16″ ten tpi blade. When doing bandsaw boxes you need the put a new blade on and tune up you saw perfectly, then you’ll be a happy box maker 14TPI is really pushing it but it’s what I like.

The biggest problem is determining exactly what part of the blade should ride on the crown of the wheel. You can’t make any other adjustment until that is set exactly right, and it varies somewhat by blade type and width. Change the blade, alter, release or reset the tension or fail to occasionally clean the tires and things go off enough to be noticeable.
