I wanted so much to love this thing because I read good things about it on a few blogs. However, this model isn’t good for either work or home use.
When you plunge cut, the motor makes a very bad sound. If you’ve ever had an old car that wouldn’t start, or tried to start it when the battery was low, it sounds a lot like those dreaded sounds.
Do not get me started on how to use the continuous cutting blade. I thought I was going to faint. Sweat came down my face. Let’s just say you need a lot of “elbow grease..
There isn’t enough power to do even the most simple jobs.
Pros.
1. There is very little vibration in the air.
2. Strong/good-quality blades.
Third, there is an adapter that lets you use blades made by other companies with your machine.
4. A good way to change things quickly.
5. It comes with a little box for extra things.
Cons.
1. The motor is very weak (sounds like it is about to burn-out when plunge cutting.
2. There are no different speeds.
3. It is very, very hard to cut in a straight line.
4. The tool is useless because it doesn’t have enough power to work.
This seems to be 1.6 amps. I see that they have a 2.4 AMP model that they can sell (that seems to be the most powerful model they have). There are a lot of good things about the 2.4 amp model, and Genesis was ranked at the top of a lot of blogs I read. I might give the brand another chance.
If I give the Genesis brand another chance with the 2.4 amp model, I’ll write a new post about it and say that I did.
