The Quick-Change blade change system makes it easy to change wheels without having to use a wrench.

In high school, I started using Dewalt tools. I’ve used them for everything from my jobsite table saw to my miter saw to the router spindle on my CNC machine.

So, I have a standard for Dewalt products. This is why I have a standard.

A lot of research led me to choose this saw, even though the reviews weren’t the best. I saw this saw.

There are things I like about it.

Dewalt products always have a great fit and finish. The paint and everything else is great, too.

The base is strong and heavy, which comes in handy when you need to clamp a lot of metal. It also has rubber feet, which some people don’t like.

All of the hardware is good. It even comes with an Allen wrench that you can use to adjust the rear fence. Everything can fit together very well now.

Things that made this almost pointless were.

The stock blade is terrible. It got one very hard cut in, and after that, it was worth nothing. When I was done cutting, I replaced the old blade with one from Mikita. It’s much thinner and cuts faster, and I cut about 20 pieces of 1-inch by 1/4-inch tube squares with it.

I like the idea of the “quick change” blade mechanism, but I don’t think it will last very long. When it overtorques, it makes a sound like a gas tank cap.

Another thing that makes me wish I had bought an Evolution brand saw is “accuracy,” and I wish I had. As the blade comes into contact with the metal, it moves around for a while and then settles down in one place. It then cuts the metal. I think the 14-inch blades are to blame for this. I don’t think this is a precision machine. This is more of a cut and rough machine, something for a job site.

The way it cuts in general is wack. You can move the back fence to different places in relation to the center of the blade, which means that if you have it all centered, it won’t cut very well. Even if the blade is horizontal, it will not cut a flat piece of wood. It will just scratch at it, and unless you push very hard on it, it won’t bite into the wood. Same with square tabbing that has thick walls and a lot of space.

The quick vise fence clamp is another great idea, but I don’t think it will work out. It has a threaded part and an unthreaded part, so you can slide and adapt from different sizes without having to turn the screw so much.

There’s a safety fence that moves a little, but it’s not like the wood miter saw that smoothly retracts.

It’s also shown in the pictures I put up. The finish of the cut is a little rough and needs to be cleaned.

Overal.

Dewalt isn’t known for making the best tools, but this one can take a lot of abuse. If you use a square, it can make 90° cuts with a 2° difference because the blade wobbles. I’d like to point out that mine was about to be dialed to 90° and be perpendicular to the cutting slot and fence, but I didn’t have any major problems like other reviews said.

This is all for now. What does each number on the back rest adjustment do. They only have numbers and no other markings to tell you anything about them. They don’t match anything, they’re just there to show off, but they don’t tell you anything about them.

If you don’t need a lot of precision and just need to cut a lot of metal, this is the tool for you.
