I bought a great drill in October 2020, but the battery died in the middle of March 2021, making the drill useless. Now I have to decide if I should buy a new battery for the same price as the drill, battery, and charger that came with it. Frustrating.
I have to add to my original review because I was very happy with the customer service I got from Amazon and the support I got from Porter Cable. My Amazon Chat window came up as I was looking into new battery replacements. They asked if I needed any help, and I said no. I told them about my battery problem. Amazon asked for my phone number and said he would call me on Monday when he got in touch with PC support. Porter Cable support was not available on Sunday. He called me Monday morning, as he said, and told me to go to PC support. They took some information about the battery that didn’t work, and because it was under a three-year warranty, PC will send me a new battery because the one I had was out of stock. A lot of help from Amazon and Porter Cable. Because Amazon’s return policy was over, you still have a three-year warranty on the batteries from Porter Cable, even though Amazon’s return policy was over.
