Sharpening, cutting, grinding, eliminating rust, and surface preparation are all possible with the Black & Decker BDEG400 4-1/2″ 6 Amp Angle Grinder.
The metal gear case of this grinder ensures robustness and extended life.
It has a three-position side handle for increased comfort and control when working with different materials and angles.
It also incorporates a spindle lock that makes changing accessories a breeze.
With a spindle size range of 5/8″ to 11″, it spins at 10,000 rpm.
(1) 4-1/2″ Small angle grinder, (1) Metal grinding wheel, and (1) Spanner wrench are included in this kit.

This was purchased with the goal of cutting through a “kryptonite” U-shaped bike lock.
Because it just came with a grinding wheel, I purchased the 5-pack of cutting wheels that Amazon recommends for use with the grinder.
Unfortunately, I ignored another reviewer’s caution that a ***Type 1 disc should not be used, as stated in the grinder’s instruction booklet.
*** For safety concerns, only a Type 27 disc is permitted.
It appears to have something to do with the way the wheel sits within the guard housing.
Unfortunately, the popular 5-pack of wheels does not provide a clear photo of the wheel, and the “Type” number is not mentioned in the description.
The wheels are now labelled Type 1 now that I have them.
So I’ve just placed an order for a Type 27 cutting disc.
Because the Type 1 and Type 27 cutting discs have the same 4.5 inch diameter and 0.045 inch thickness, it’s easy for the uninitiated (like myself) to assume they’re the same size.
However, after doing some investigation, I discovered that the Type 1 disc is a flat disc, whereas the Type 27 disc has a raised part in the center, causing it to sit lower in the safety guard.
