I just got my first band saw, a 14 inch Rikon model 10-326 and am trying to align the fence mostly for resawing. The straightness looks decent but I measure 0.14 inches on the top and 0.16 inches along the bottom. I would imagine high end professional models have a more precise fence either built in at the factory or allows for a more precise tuning.
There should be a way to align the fence itself, however I don’t have one as a reference, so I can’t help you with that. Heck, I have a POS homemade fence I scavenged off an old Ohio Forge benchtop table saw, and made rails from left-over table mounting angle iron from a RAS upgrade. My fence is certainly not parallel to anything, but it still cuts just fine and re-sawing still comes out great.

My fence is out of square and for some reason I can’t get it sqaure again. If you take the fence off and turn it over you should see a plastic pad that is glued in place. “It holds square when locked in place but I was ripping a few sections of a 6×6 to get a 4×4. The pressure I was using to keep the stock against the fence tilted the entire fence. If I do the with a 3/4” piece of wood, the pressure I put is at the bottom so it won’t tilt the fence.
