I have found that running a putty knife against the sides of the blade behind the gullett while the saw is running makes quick work removing any build-up.
While I have never tried to lub a blade I have found that if you take a fine file the as the saw runs, “Dress” the rear edge of the blade with the file it seems to cut tight circles a lot easier and with less burning. You don’t need much, just a few rotations of the blade on each side.
