The 18V LXT® Sub-Compact Brushless Driver-Drill (XFD15ZB, tool only) is a tool that can drill and drive at the same time, but it’s much lighter. You can get the same size and weight of a lower voltage tool with the power, performance, and compatibility of an 18-Volt tool with this driver-drill. It has a powerful brushless motor that can go at two different speeds and two LED lights to make the work area easier to see. At only 5-7/8 in. long, it is a small drilling and driving tool that is easy to use and comfortable to use.

It’s part of Makita’s growing 18V LXT System, which is the world’s largest cordless tool system that runs on 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries and has more tools than any other brand. Charge times for batteries made by Makita® are the fastest in their class. This means that they spend more time working and less time waiting for the batteries to charge.

For better tool performance and longer battery life, Makita came up with Star Protection Computer ControlsTM. Star Protection is a type of communication technology that allows a Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and keep an eye on things while they’re being used to make sure they don’t get too hot, get too full, or get too low. For more versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol on the battery. This means that the battery has Star Protection inside.

This review was written. No one else has written a review yet. Where are they. However, even though I haven’t used this drill, it is based on the XFD11, which I’ve never used. There are a lot of reviews on Amazon and YouTube for the 11. To see what this drill can do, look at the XFD11. The XFD15 is a good thing because it has a metal chuck instead of a plastic one, and it is shorter. I can’t believe this thing costs only $109 at the time of this review. I already had a Makita 18v drill with a hammer function, but that thing weighs close to 6 pounds. The XFD15 is a workhorse and a half, does 99% of what I need it to do (except for hammering concrete or tile), is lightweight, and feels great in the hand. “5+”
