Every now and then, I find a tool that is simple and elegant. This one isn’t one of them. Because of the many positive reviews, I was excited to get my wood splitter. I thought I could do the work of a pneumatic machine 120 times more expensive with a few well-placed sledge strikes instead. if I had been cutting down balsa trees or Styrofoam trees or something like that, this might have been the case. But alas, I was cutting down real trees instead. As far as I know, my red and white oaks laughed at my little splitter. I think they’re still laughing, as well as most of my other neighbors. People who used this tool would have given it just one star if it weren’t for the entertainment value it added to their lives. Anyway, you’ll be happy to know that I’ve put the device to good use. I’ve given it to my local museum with the claim that it was found in Bolivia during an archaeological dig.
