Remember when you had to make those joists smooth?
With the WEN 6 Amp 3-1/4 Inch Electric Hand Planer, you can get rid of chips, splinters, and wavy edges on your wood.
Perfect for fixing stubborn doors and putting wood in place.
Over 34,000 cuts per minute are made by this power planer’s 6-Amp motor, which makes sure your boards are aligned and smooth.
To fit and square boards, you’ll need a saw that can cut 3-1/4 in wide and up to 1/8 in deep. This saw is perfect for you.
Every 1/128 inch, the 16 positive stops move up one inch. They go from 0 to 1/8 inches.
The base plate shoe even has a v-shaped groove that makes it easy to flatten the corners of sharp posts.
As well as the power planer, this package also comes with a dust bag and tools for cutting rabbets and parallel fences.
Using the rabbeting guide that comes with the kit, you can make rabbets up to an inch deep. The guide can be moved from zero to seven and a half inches.
The parallel fence makes sure your cuts are straight and accurate by making sure your strokes are parallel to the edge of the wood (a must have for planing door edges, wood trim and boards).
When you’re not cutting, the kickstand keeps both the blade and your project safe by keeping the blade up and away from the surface.
As a last step, your sawdust is collected in a dust bag to keep your work area free of sawdust and clean.
The bag can be attached to both the left and right side of the planer, so you can choose which side you want to use.
Because this is a WEN product, your 6 Amp 3-1/4 Inch Electric Hand Planer comes with a 2-year warranty, a friendly customer help line, and a network of skilled service technicians across the country who can help you.
Remember when you had a planer that worked well for a long time?
Remember WEN, please.

You haven’t seen an electric hand planer like this one before, and I’m amazed at how useful it is.
Because I’m still learning how to work with wood, I have a lot of uneven surfaces and joints that don’t quite fit together. This is because I’m a beginner.
My orbital sander got a lot of use before I got this tool. I used up a lot of 80-grit paper.
But this tool makes the process a million times easier.
One of the things that makes this tool so powerful is that it can cut through wood 1/8″ deep. When it’s set to a low setting, like 1/16, it acts like an even better belt-sander.
I made a work bench out of scrap wood and a butcher-block top.
All of these pieces of wood were glued together and then clamped. After that, the surface was uneven and there was a lot of glue residue on it.
When I used this planer, I was able to get everything level and smooth in about 30 minutes.
How long did the sander take?

If you don’t know how much to cut, it’s very simple.
As other people have said, the chip collection bag fills up quickly.
I just gave up on it and let the chips fall. The big clean up later was not worth as much as the little bag.

The only other thing I’d like to point out is that the depth control knob needs to be locked.
You hold the knob with your front hand, which means it’s easy to twist the knob while you’re cutting. This changes the cutting depth.
