Because the cords are separate from the pump, they must be stored away from the pump. When you need them, you have to plug in the cords to the pump. When this pump is on its side, the cords connect to the “bottom. So all the pictures of the pump standing up with the handle facing up are not true. In this case, the cords can’t be used to make it work that way. It can also be hard to reach when the valve on your car tire is high. This happened to me.
