In this case, it looks just like a Rupes 12mm long-throw DA polisher. It has a 10mm throw instead of a 12mm throw. I think they’re all made in the same factory in another country and rebranded by different distributors. Heavy and well made, with a powerful motor. I think it has a throw of somewhere between 8 and 10mm. I’ve seen different specs for this type of tool on the internet and on the packaging. This is still a good size stroke for a small DA tool, but it doesn’t compare to the actual Rupes, which has a true 12mm long throw that will fix defects faster. A few hours have been spent on this machine and it has worked well, corrected well, and finished well. According to me, having a small tool like this is very important when you need to work on edges and corners as well as in small spaces. Foam pads that come with the package are actually good. I think it will last. Excellent value, given the price of the tool it was made to look like. SPTA is becoming a more well-known brand out of China because it makes good products at low prices, and more people know about them. As a whole, I’m pretty pleased. The “real deal” would have cost a lot more money. As a professional, I’d go with the real thing (LHR 75e) because it will last longer and has better warranty and support. Because it has a shorter throw, I run this on speed 6 (max) when I’m compounding to account for that. It cuts well with foam pads that are big enough to cut through. I finish at speed 4 or 5. It’s going to be noisy, so wear earplugs.
