It is made of lightweight aluminum die cast.

It’s easy to get into small places because the nose is thin and long.

With this 3PLUS HAPT50SP nail-driver, nails can be removed from work pieces quickly and quietly, while still keeping the wood’s integrity and quality intact. This is great for recycling wooden pallets and boxes. This tool is powerful and well-balanced for easy movement, and it comes with a rubber grip that makes the tool feel more real.

Our air tool was finally unpacked and we added 3-4 drops of the included oil to its air intake. We used it to cut six (6) pallets of deck boards with nails or staples with pointy ends. Stringer boards were left alone (had nails with heads sticking out). Keep your eyes and ears safe with eye and ear protection.

It was set to 90 PSI with a 1 SCFM air compressor. One deck board was all we could do, so we had to give up. The compressor was too weak to get back up to speed. Another air compressor was set to 90 PSI with 4 SCFM capacity, and it kept up with us the whole time we worked. At 65-70 PSI, we’ll try it again next time.

If you push the tool’s barrel over the nail and firmly against the wood, the piston/rod will punch into the wood and go about 1/8 of an inch into it “So, or. There are times when the nail head is flush with the surface of the wood, and you can punch it so that its head comes up on the other side for easy removal. If it’s thin wood, it may completely punch through.

There is a 1/2 inch gap between where the barrel is and the nail “When you use a tool above the wood surface, it won’t hurt the wood (good if you want to reuse or repurpose it). If the wood is very thin, the tool could completely punch out the nail.

Nails fall into a 5 gallon bucket with bubble wrap on the bottom to keep them from rolling away. There were two ways we tried to hold the wood against the bucket’s rim and not touch the bucket. Both worked, but there was very little movement of the wood that wasn’t touching the bucket. Use care, because nails can become projectiles.

Each time the compressor ran, we added two drops to the air intake of the tool.

A lot helps if the nails are mostly straight. Make sure to use a pair of pliers to straighten nails that are thicker than a tool’s barrel. You might have a hard time getting them out if the nails or screws aren’t long enough or straight enough.

As a whole, the tool worked 100% of the time and we are very happy with how it worked.
