Bottom line: I’m getting fire at the plug and getting fuel but it’s not cranking. If the piston looks good try changing the plug again, if you flooded it hold the throttle wide open when cranking. Had a hard time getting it cranked after that, but seems to be fine now.
The chain would stop and I’d have to back it out of the cut, rev it back up and give it another go. My dad cut into one of the plastic wedges causing me to have to sharpen the chain the first time. So we started paying closer attention and that’s when we started noticing the chain cutting upwards rather than straight.
You stated you ran the saw for a couple of minutes at TNLS. Even at a lesser speed of 12,000 rpms, the saw is firing 200 times a second. Though a few minutes sounds insignificant, it may only take seconds for a lean running saw to be damaged or destroyed. The STIHL cylinder and piston kit for that saw is around $ 210.00.
