Take apart an old, rotting, rusted swing set. I wanted to get an impact wrench so I could break off all of the rusty bolts and screws.
There are so many impact wrenches and drivers to choose from that it’s hard to keep up. They start at around $45 and go up to a few hundred dollars. A tool that could be used all over the house, from small jobs like drilling and screwing things together to bigger jobs like screws and bolts.
I bought three things total before I got to the Bosch freak, which is an impact driver that can also be used as an impact wrench.
Until now, this has been able to handle everything I’ve thrown at it on a low to medium power setting, and I haven’t needed to use full power yet. This is a great tool.
Those 14-year-old bolts couldn’t stand up to Bosch.
There are great tools like Dewalt and Malika, but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on them for my home DIY projects. I’m not the owner of an auto shop:.
As a precaution, I looked up all the torque settings for each of my four cars. The worst case was 128 ft-lbs, and I’ve seen videos on YouTube where this Bosch wrench breaks bolts that were manually torqued to 190 ft-lbs.
For me, this driver/wrench, which is both a driver and a wrench, checked all the boxes.
After you use it, you can also tell that it’s very well put together, very strong but light. The battery (4ah) is still full even though I took half of the swing set part off.
It’s a great tool.
