I would have given this a 5 star review if there had been more information about which guard was included.
After I got the machine, I found that the guard that came with it was way too long to use with a standard 7/8 arbor flap disc or grinding disc.
A thick piece of safety equipment is so heavy that you have to hold it at a 45-degree angle. Otherwise, the corners will touch and scratch the work surface.

If you have a Dewalt machine, you can buy different guards for it. One of them is just right for these discs.
Some reason, Dewalt makes it hard to find information about the guards. I wanted to share what I learned so that it might be useful to other buyers.
In the box, you get the N309159, which is called the “4.5in / JUMBO FLAP” guard, but it’s not.
I then bought the N306360 4.5″ guard, which is great for using with standard non-hubbed flap-discs and grinding discs.
N311419 is also the correct cutting guard for this grinder.
