The unit looks good. It’s small and easy to move. For heavy equipment and high-torque jobs, I bought it. On a 3/8-inch bolt, it didn’t break it off or strip the nut.
Next, I tried to remove the main caps on a 350 V8 Pontiac that had been factory torqued to 105 lb ft. It didn’t work. Do not do this at all.
I tried my 20-year-old Ampro 450 lb ft Impact, which I bought at a liquidation store. It was easy to break the main cap bolts off with this tool. In my opinion, this tool doesn’t have enough power to turn lug nuts on most cars.
I’m going to return this Aeropro impact. I’ll buy one with a real torque test and from a more well-known brand instead.
Another air impact was the only way to get an air impact that was much more “powerful..
At that, Aeropro didn’t do very well at all.
UPDATE.
Ordered an AirCat 1178 VXL from amazon, and it arrived soon after.
It was just like the Aeropro. I did the same tests again.
Aircat broke the 3/8 nut bolt right away, which is what it should have done, but it did not.
Spun the untouched rear main caps off of the same 350 engine that had been there before.
Old Ampro also helped me twist a large bolt as far as it could. Then I used the Aircat to twist it even tighter.
A lot more money is spent on the Aircat than on the Aeropro, but the Aircat is worth the extra money in terms of how much better it works.
It has more power than my Ampro. What I wanted was a more powerful air impact for hard jobs.
