I am now a Bosch fan. I bought a Bosch lithium drill/driver at a close-out sale at a nearby store. Was very pleased with the quality. The lithium batteries were always ready to go. My old Nicd tools were getting old, so I started looking for other Bosch tools that were cordless to replace them.
When I saw the price of this impact driver, I knew I had to try it. When I didn’t know what I was missing, it took me awhile to figure it out. The impact driver has become one of my most important tools. I use it all the time. This tool is small, but it packs a big punch. I’ve used it mostly to drive screws and lag bolts. Having a drill and an impact driver that don’t have to change bits is very useful.
As long as you have a set of adapters, the impact driver can also be very useful for things like tightening wheel lug nuts. In my case, the “shade tree” mechanic has been very good with it. I’m not saying that it should be used that way on a regular basis, but mine has held up well. (It’s been about a year now..
In terms of lithium battery technology, no one can match it. The old cordless drill I used for years kept having dead batteries, so it’s a real treat to have them always be ready to go.
