I haven’t used this saw for a long time or put it through a lot of abuse yet, but in its first use, it doesn’t seem to have any more power than a corded circular saw. It also seems to be well made and put together. To be honest, I try not to fall in love with any company. I like dewalt’s professional grade portable tools and have bought their battery line, and I think this saw lives up to them. When the blade guard is supposed to be made of metal, there are some places where I don’t understand why it was made of plastic. It may be possible to show that the plastic is strong enough, but I’m still wondering why not go with an all-metal guard instead. These plastic choices don’t feel cheap in the worst kind of planned obsolescence way. They were probably made for weight and other reasons because this is a very heavy saw. Depending on how many times a day you cut through what kind of material, you may want to buy a smaller saw. A person who is smaller and has less upper body strength may want to buy a smaller saw. It might be necessary to add a little paint to the base plate to make it easier to read the measurements. This is because the metal and color of the metal make it hard to read.
