I’ve been in the construction business for 26 years now. I’ve used a lot of different tools. Miter saws come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. I’ve used almost every one of them. The miter saw I needed to start my own business came after I did. Which one. I already knew I liked Bosch tools because I used them. I also knew that I couldn’t start with something like DeWalt and work my way up to Bosch. One time, I used this saw and I haven’t stopped. No, not this one.
For all these years, I’ve been cutting up everything I can find. It hasn’t missed a beat. When it comes to things like solid maple inlays and railroad ties, this thing has no boundaries. For a landscaping triangle, putting 60-degree angles on 4×6 posts would make most miter saws give up and throw in the towel, though. This one isn’t. It made those cuts as easy as butter.

Let me make this as useful as I can.
Anyone who has used a sliding compound miter saw knows that the dust it makes makes the slide mechanisms stick together, making it hard to move and cutting fingers off. Bosch has a system called axial-glide that solves this. As smooth as the day I got it. The slide mechanism no longer needs you to be a foot and a half away from the saw to work. The glide kind of folds and unfolds, but it doesn’t move very quickly. I’m still amazed by how well this system works, and I still think it’s very good.
There are no lasers, crown stops, or people to help you move this saw. In this case, you’re in the wrong business and don’t need this saw. You need these things. Even though mine was made in Malaysia, I’m pretty sure it was made in China. What’s not. Not at all. It’s not like it’s some cheaply made piece of junk that someone else made.
It comes with a blade. Awful, the blade can only be used to hurl at trees. WARNING! Do not do that. Do yourself a favor and buy a few Freud Industrial blades for yourself. The 60T is my favorite for the “not-so-delicates,” and the 72T is my favorite for the “fine work..
In order to move this saw from job site to job site, you’ll need a stand with wheels. For storage, though, you can fold these stands into a small package. It’s almost like two people need to do this. I never fold them. This saw is heavy and hard to use.
There’s not much else to say about this piece of art. There’s no question about what it does. To buy it if it fits your price range. If you don’t make good decisions or your favorite color is yellow, you know where you should go.
Finally, the only thing I can think of that I don’t like is that it doesn’t bring me a beer when I do a good job.
