Before I go on, let me say that I’m not a person who writes bad reviews, but I think I should let people know what I think is a waste of money.

I work as a gas piping contractor, and I use a lot of tools in my toolbox. This is one of those tools because I have to drill through masonry and concrete almost every day. I need a tool that not only works well but also lasts a long time.

It took about 15 years for this model’s predecessor to die because it had been through a lot of brick and concrete. Boy, did I make a big mistake by upgrading to the new one. When something was good, it was great. Now, it’s garbage. The motor on the first one I bought started to smoke while I was drilling a hole. I had to buy a new one. When this happened, I thought it was a little weird. Most likely, I got a lemon, but I didn’t know it at the time, either. I had only been using the drill for about three months. Because I use this tool almost every day, I ordered a new one right away. I called Bosch about the one that didn’t work and they said they wouldn’t stand behind their product, which was very upsetting to me. The replacement came, and I put it to use right away because I had to finish the job the other one died on. When did this happen? This was on 3/12/20. Using a 3.5″ core bit, I was drilling through brick and concrete in a foundation wall on August 22, 2020. When I was halfway through the hole, the drill stopped and I had to start over. Because I thought it was too hot, I let it cool down a little and tried it again. It didn’t work. Nothing. tried it again and again, but nothing worked. A lot of people could have run over and broken up my car. I was so angry that I almost threw the car out in the road for them to run over and smash into pieces. A task that should have taken 20 minutes turned into a 2.5-hour task that took twice as long. When I had to buy a new drill because my old one broke again, I spent a lot of money.

There must be a bottom line here. If you work as a contractor and need a tool like this, don’t buy this one. In this case, I will keep the drill as a back-up, but it will not be my main drill for sure. Hope this helps someone else.
