The angle grinder’s brushless motor doesn’t need to be changed at all.
When the DEWALT grinder is running, the brake on the wheel usually stops the wheel in 2 seconds or less on most of the time.
Kickbac. There is a “pinch,” “stall,” or “bind-up” event that causes the brake to work. The electronic brake works with the most force to stop the wheel, slow the metal grinding, and turn the grinder off quickly, so it can be used again.
Power Loss Reset makes sure that the tool doesn’t start up again after a power outage when it’s still on.
It doesn’t take long to change the brushes on this brushless small angle grinder, and it has a long motor life. In the PERFORM AND PROTECT line, this grinder has a Kickback Brake that stops the wheel when it gets stuck, stalls, or tries to move in the wrong direction. Because I already have a lot of 20v tools, I bought this one. My kit came with a trigger switch, but I don’t like it, especially when I’m grinding for a long time (just my preference). There are a lot of good things about this grinder: It is powerful, lightweight, and easy to use. When I used this machine to cut rebar and flatten welding beads (so people didn’t see that I was a bad welder), it worked very well and quickly. It also has a good brake, which came in handy when one of the rebars got stuck on the wheel. The brake “slipped” as it should, preventing an unpleasant kickback, since this is a powerful tool that can hurt you. Love that there’s no separate lock-out switch that you have to deal with. On the top of the grinder, there is a button that locks the shaft. This makes it easy to put on and take off the wheels. I’m not sure why they made it this way, but I don’t need tools to remove and put on the wheels. Dewalt has a great system for 20V tools. The Mas XR grinder is great, and I love the whole system.
