Buy BOSCH PR111 Palm Router Plunge Base for GKF125CE

For palm routers with plunge bases, this is a sturdy base that makes it easy and precise to plunge. It is compatible with Bosch GKF125CE palm routers.

For easy and accurate plunge routing, this tool has a very smooth and precise action.

In this case, you can set the depth rod in a very small way to get very precise results.

It has a quick-clamp system that makes it easy to move the motor from one base to another.

Allows the subbase (and, if attached, an optional template guide Bushing) to be precisely centered, which makes it easier to keep the bit on the intended cut line when using jigs and other guidance devices, such as a template guide bushing.

The BOSCH PR111 plunge base features smooth plunge action and a spring-lock plunge control lever, greatly enhancing the versatility of BOSCH GKF125CE palm router. The quick-clamp system makes it easy to move the palm router’s motor from one base to another. An adjustable depth stop wheel and a microfine adjustment on the depth rod make it easy to set the bit’s depth quickly and accurately. The precision centering design makes it easy to center the subbase so that the bit stays on the intended cut line when using jigs, templates, dovetail fixtures, and other types of tools to help you cut. The translucent polycarbonate base that comes with it makes it easier to see where you’re putting things.

So, I bought this plunge base, because the bosch router set I bought did not come with a plunge base. When you buy the combo with the plunge base, you’ll save yourself a lot of time and stress. GKF125 CEPK is the name of the kit that I have. Here is a review of the plunge base.

I must say, this makes your Bosch 1.25hp router a lot more useful. Because of the rubber-coated handles, you can control the plunge base almost as well as you can control the router because it’s almost twice as wide. There is a “castle” adjustment on the right side that makes it easy to control the depth. In this case, the thumb lever is very comfortable to use because it’s on the left grip. It’s also very easy to use. So easy, in fact, that you can press the lever by accident if you hold the left handle the wrong way. The downstroke is smooth and predictable, and thanks to the rubber-coated handles, vibration is kept to a level that isn’t too bad. This isn’t the case with the upstroke.

There are a few small problems with this base, though.

First, the base doesn’t have a place for the switch to be in a more comfortable place, like in front or on the side. A: You can’t change where it is. As a result, you have to twist or move the router all the time to turn it off or on.

The springs inside the plunger are very stiff. This isn’t noticable when you are pressing down, but as soon as you let up, the router will spring up to full height with a surprising amount of force. Most of the time, the router will try to jump off the work surface, and it takes a lot of focus to make this happen smoothly.

In spite of some annoying problems, this base was worth every penny, and I’m sorry that I didn’t get one sooner. I wish I had bought one sooner. The more you use this little router, the more you’ll love it for “quick” or “not-big-enough-for-the-router table” jobs. Has it worked for you?
