When I was a child, I had a 1950s pot-belly stove that was sitting on a porch next to salt water for a long time. It built up a thick layer of surface rust that covered every part of it. Then I used this media and it worked great even with a cheap, cheap gun but at a steady 120psi. Too big for my cabinet, so I didn’t cover any of it. Fine enough, but not too fine. It took almost all of the 25 pounds to do both the inside and outside of the stove. I’m guessing about 25 square feet total, and that may be a good way to figure it out: 1lb to 1sq ft. On your gun and how much pressure you have, it could be different. You won’t be able to use this at less than 90psi, and it won’t work with a compressor that can’t keep up. if you haven’t done sandblasting without a cabinet before, you’ll need a full-face respirator and gloves that go all the way up your arm. Something with a hood was also put on your head. Make sure you don’t let anyone in, like you’re about to be thrown out of an airlock into space. The sand will get all over you and you don’t want to breathe it in.
