Only buy this for small projects. Even with that, I would be careful. Take a look at this light duty cutting and grinding. Do not use this to remove or smooth a lot of surface.
To start, I’m a fan of the brand Craftsman. I’m not a fan of any one brand. I just like high-quality tools that last a long time.
I bought this to remove thinset from a bathroom floor. I used it with the right-sized diamond cup grinding disk to get the job done.
A few seconds after I turned on the grinder and touched it to the thinset, flames shot out the side. The whole thing caught fire.
Because I didn’t overwork this thing, it didn’t get too hot.
To stay on track with the project, I had to go buy a new one and return this one.
None of the above choices are worth the money I’d have to spend.
If I was sent a defective model, I am giving it two stars instead of one. Others may be more durable.
