Notice: I use a 4″X5/8″ (Arbor) X 24 Grit, 36 Grit, and 50Grit Sanding Disk for different thicknesses of Mower Blades when I’m sanding them down. There are two types of grits: 36 for thicker blades and 50 for smoothing and razor sharpness.
1. Buy the Makita Lock Nut 224501-6, $6.93. Has a deeper collar so it can go through the disk and the rubber back pad.
2. Buy the Makita 4″ Rubber Backing Pad 743009-6, $7.40.

The Wrench that comes with the Sanding Disc Locking Nut also works with the Wrench that comes with the tool. Use a 4inch x 5/8inch (Arbor) and the grit that you like to make your wood look good. It’s a great Grinder/Sander. I bought a second one with the lock nut and rubber pad for each one.

Is not a full 4 inches long, but that’s not supposed to be the case. It’s Exactly The Same Size As My Older Makita’s 4″ Rubber Pad.
