It turns out that I do a lot of renovations, but I don’t do a lot of heavy framing, so I didn’t even know there was a framing nailer for metal connectors. I’ve been doing things the long way.
After a whole house full of hurricane ties and a deck full of joist hangers, this was a great buy. There have been no holes that I haven’t nailed through. So I don’t have to refill the clips as often, I like the paper tape 33° setting on this gun. The nailer is a little heavy and not as well-balanced as other tools, but it’s well-made, there were no jams, and it did a great job.
A single button lets you switch out the precision point pressure trigger for a traditional framing trigger. This is a great idea.

They say they can’t find 33° nails at any stores, but I haven’t had any trouble with 30° Paslode nails, which are in stock at my Home Depot and Lowe’s. I’ve used almost a whole 2000-pack of 2 3/8-inch nails and I can’t remember a single jam.
