You don’t have to reach up to a switch on the motor with the BOSCH MRF23EVS, because it has a trigger-controlled power switch in the handle of the base. With a powerful 15 Amp, 2.3 HP, 10,000 to 25,000 RPM (no load), one-piece armature shaft for precision and long bit-shank capacity, this router has everything you need to get the job done. In addition, the motor has LED lights that stay on all the time and provide the best lighting. The motor is held in place by the base using the quick-clamp system that was invented by Bosch. This allows the motor to move without having to use tools. The MRF01 fixed base has a depth adjustment system that can be used for both macro- and micro-fine adjustments. It has a 1-5/8-Inch continuous micro-fine adjustment range. Threaded holes are also on this base, so it can be attached to an optional router table. Furthermore, it comes with a T-wrench that you can use to adjust the depth from above the table, so you don’t need to buy an expensive router lift. Definitely a great router. When I’ve used other routers in the past, this one is better. There is no way I am a professional woodworker, but I have used routers a fair amount and know how to use them. The on/off button on the handle is the main reason I love this router. I don’t know why this isn’t on every router. There is a lot more control for the person who owns the router, and I think that makes it a lot safer than other brands (I think the soft start also contributes to that). I mostly use a 1/2″ diameter flush trim bit to cut out cutouts in 3/4″ thick birch and red oak plywood. The router has enough power to do this. Because I haven’t used it in a router table to speak about, I can’t say how it works there. I’m excited to use it for all of the freehand routing I do.
