Well, I’m done installing my second replacement compressor. It is behind the hood of my Class A motor home, so it is safe but not completely waterproof. Based in Phoenix, water doesn’t come to mind very often except when I want it. Because of the filter, a lot of water got through and got into the first compressor. When it turned on while coming out of Payson, it got enough water through to freeze the piston when it turned. A new one was put in and I learned that I must keep the filter clean. Rained for the first time in five years. It did the same thing. There is now a filter inside the rig, at the end of a 3′ 1/4″ air hose that goes through a firewall to the compressor. I learned my lesson. Note that the filter is 1/8″ male NPT and the compressor is 1/8″ female NPT, so I had to adapt the hose to 1/4″ on both ends so it would work.
As soon as the 1100 lb. Air Lift system comes on, I love how it automatically stabilizes the coach, even when it’s on the move. Harley is on the HydraLift that is on the back of the car, too.
