They have springs under the bristles so that the height of the bristles can be changed to fit different-sized grinding wheels.

With a steel ball inside. You can slide the cover without getting it stuck because of dirt. A piece that can be taken out so you can grind close to the walls.

5 inches: Bosch, Makita, Dewalt, Kress, AEG, Metabo, Milwaukee, and many other tools can use this. If you want to buy a main brand 4″, 4.5″ or 5″ Angle Grinder, you should not buy the easy lock angle grinder. It doesn’t work with the HILTI brand angle grinder.

Manufactured to keep the dust down while grinding concrete.

It was already in my possession. I didn’t want to buy another one, but reading the reviews of the different dust shrouds for concrete grinding made it look like it would be hard to fit the Hercules. To use this shroud and its 5 inch diamond wheel, I bought a Metabo HPT G12-SR4. As soon as possible, I needed a solution that worked, and one of the combinations looked like it could be made to work.

As long as you have a Metabo grinder, you don’t have to worry about how big the collar on the shroud is. It fits perfectly on the grinder without a hitch. It has to be rotated just right in order for everything to clear, but it does work, and it holds securely.

There’s a problem, though. The spindle washer that comes with the dust shroud is too thin to bring out the wheel’s surface far enough to work with the shroud on the Metabo. Because the spindle washer that comes with the Metabo is bigger in diameter than the hole at the center of its shroud, it is a little more thick. The Metabo needs a cup wheel that is at least 3 mm deeper than the one I have, or I had to do what I did, which was to make the hole in the center of the shroud bigger. As soon as I used the drill driver, I was able to use a rotary file to do this. That’s about as big as that hole can get.

There are some things I want to say about how to fit the dust shroud on the Hercules first. None of the collars that come with the shroud are big enough for the Hercules to fit around. To get the shroud on the Hercules, I wrapped 3 or 4 layers of aluminum tape around the thinnest collar. When the cup wheel was used with the original Hercules spindle washer, it came too close to the work surface. With an O-ring, I didn’t try to change this washer. I didn’t know how to do that. But it looks like this shroud could be used with the Hercules grinder if one used a wheel with a deeper cup than the one that came with the shroud. This would make the shroud work with the grinder. None of us knew how long the kludge made of aluminium foil and glue would last. This cup wheel comes with a wrench that fits the Hercules, but not the Metabo.

When the Metabo grinder was put together as described above, the whole thing worked great. If you have a Bosch VAC005 hose, it will fit right in the vacuum port because it’s a European standard size of 35 mm. Once it’s there, it doesn’t move. A Cen-Tec 94181 hose was what I used instead of the Bosch hose because I didn’t want to cut my Bosch hose short.

As another reviewer said, the “window” for edge grinding tends to open on its own. Putting some duct tape on it to keep it shut works well, though.

Dust Deputy, a HEPA filter bag inside my shop vacuum, and a HEPA filter inside the shop vac made it so there was almost no dust in the room while I was grinding. A lot of dust could fly out if I didn’t pay attention while grinding, but this rig just works. I finished my project with about 12 pounds of dust in the Dust Deputy and about 3 pounds in the filter bag. There was almost no dust in the room, as I said.
