Buy Handpiece, No.15D, Duplex Hammer - H-15D

On Amazon, this item is for sale.

Besides having a double spring, the H.15D has the same specs as the H.15. There is an H.15 Handpiece that has a hammering action instead of a rotary one. It can be used by jewelers to set stones and decorate their work at low speeds (0-5,000 rpm). An anvil point comes with it (HP10177). A lubricant is needed every now and then. In order to make the impact of the hammer more or less strong, turn the silver-knurled ring. If you don’t like the standard points, you can choose from six different shaped anvil points (HP10171, HP10173, HP10175, HP10176, and HP10179), a Pave Point (R15PT), and a Stylus with a Carbide Tip (HP10212). There is no warranty on double springs, so they can break and are not covered. They are made of special steel and have a flexible spring cover to protect them. Replacement springs (HP76) are available and can be put in by the person who owns the machine. Only people who have used flex shaft tools before should buy this type of handpiece. For most people, the “straight” handpiece (H.15) is the best choice. Because it’s 9-5/8 inches long, it’s 1/4 inches wide at the tip and weighs 5.2 pounds. It also weighs 7.15 pounds to ship. The “Interchangeable Handpieces” system from Foredom is made up of this tool.

After a few years of not making jewelry, I bought the Prodigy flexshaft from a store. I didn’t want to spend money on a new flexshaft to set stones in my bezels, so I hoped this would work. It does, in fact. I have a speed controller that lets me change the speed. I set it to 15%. The Prodigy can run at 20,000 rpm, but this handpiece should not be used at more than 5,000 rpm, so don’t do that. Really well at 15% power.
