I bought this item in July 2017. Before December 2017, I didn’t open it up. It didn’t work when I tried to charge the batteries, so I had to throw them away. Milwaukee told me that the drill was made in 2013 and that it was out of warranty. I called Milwaukee customer service and was told the same thing, so I did the same thing. “Items bought are out of warranty,” and items bought through Amazon don’t come with a factory warranty. I always thought warranties were based on when you bought something, not when it was made.
Anyone who buys a Milwaukee product should be aware. Products made by the manufacturer are not backed by them. As soon as they are in your hands, make sure to triple check the codes and serial numbers. Make sure they were made recently. Return them right away if they are more than a few months old. Make sure you don’t expect any warranty from Milwaukee, though. In the end, this is the last Milwaukee I will ever buy. Poor customer service.
