There are many times when I’m at work and I work with Makita, Dewalt, and Milwaukee cordless tools together. The Makita brushless is better than the rest. The tool itself doesn’t get as hot and doesn’t need as many charges when it’s used a lot. My old Milwaukee Fuel driver couldn’t keep up with the Makita getting hot and needing more battery changes. Each of the three major brands has a lot of power, but they all have a similar amount of power.
The most recent example I can think of was when I was building large framing panels for concrete walls at my nephew’s new home. I had Fuel, my brother-in-law had Dewalt, and my nephew had the Makita. All of us were in the construction business.
Now, it’s hard to switch tool lines because you have a lot of batteries and other things.
The Makita batteries charge a little more quickly than the Milwaukee ones, but not by much.

All of these tools have both a brushless and a standard version. The brushless costs more than the standard version, but it’s worth it. If you only use these for a short time, you won’t see a big difference in how well you do. Brushless is probably too much for a person who owns a home. Brushless tools shine when they are used for a long time. They will last longer than standard tools because they don’t wear out as quickly.
I’ve seen and used all three of these tools for a long time. Here, we’re a little too picky. They’re all very good. You will see a big difference between the big three and the cheaper lines like Ryobi that have plastic gears, so they are cheaper. If you only need these tools for small jobs, even the Ryobi will do the job. If you keep using them for a long time, you’ll have problems. That should help.
