Buy 251-111 Phase II 100WST 6 Pc Wedge Q/C Tool Post Set-Lathe Swing 9

The tool posts are made to be very accurate so that they can be used again and again.

Tool Post and each of the following: #1,#2,#4,#7, and #10.

Advanced design makes it possible to meet the tightest working tolerances. Machine the T-Nut so it fits your lathe. Made in China, though.

It’s not always easy, but Phase II always comes out with a good product. For example, there are a few big-ticket items. The boring bar holder only accepts the tool on one side, which is a pain if you mount your toolpost for boring on the wrong side of the lathe, but it’s easy to fix with a little emery.

I wish they had told me the dimensions of the parts, so I’ve added them to this list. Even added photos to show that it is true. 0.475″x1.850″x2.350.” This is the size of the mounting block that goes into the carriage. I think it’s a bolt that’s about a half-inch long. This block didn’t fit my old Sheldon lathe. I have a lot of blocks with threaded holes, so I just took this one from another post.

This is an older model that has a wedge instead of a push plate. Each time you take the tool out and put it back in, it only holds it about.015″. That’s a lot, but it’s much easier than having to move a cutter into a traditional tool holder for each replacement. I use a 10″ swing lathe, which is a lot for most projects. The extra weight and rigidity help me get a better finish than I would with a lighter machine.

Make sure you get the 251-100 if you need more repeatability when you hold your tools down. People at work use it well. It costs a little more.
