The way to connect.
There are two Aviation plugs in the package. Put the small one into the spindle, then use the large one to fix it into the little one. You will see the marked number (1.2.3.4) on the top of the large one. Pin 1 goes to terminal U on the vfd. There are two pins on the vfd. Pin 2 goes to terminal V on the vfd. This is how it works: Pin 3 goes to terminal W on the vfd. Pin 4 is a ground.
I bought this kit so I could use it with my GarageWorx CNC machine set up. The spindle kit came quickly and was well-packed. All the Huanyang spindle kits you can buy online are very similar to this one, so it’s easy to find them. The spindle turned out to have a bad winding, but the company (MySweety) was very quick to replace it. Overall, I had a great time with MySweety. A list of the pros and cons is below. Some of these may not apply to everyone because of their own set-up.
All in one kit with a fairly simple set up.
This means that the spindle bracket is ‘blank’, which means that it can be drilled and tapped to fit almost any Z axis bracket on the market.
– VFD settings aren’t easy to find. The manual came with the kit. It would be nice to have a supplement with the minimum settings for this kit.
– The water pump has 220v. For some people, this might not be a big deal. But for me, I didn’t have a place to hook up the pump, so I bought a 110v pond pump.
If you want to connect the pump and the spindle with tubing, you’ll only need about half of what you think you’ll need. It’s easy to find the right tubing at your local home improvement store for just a few bucks.
In this case, pin 4 (the ground) on the spindle isn’t connected to anything else. The spindle needs to be changed to add a ground point if you want to ground it.
People who want to start making things with water-cooled spindles should buy this kit. People who work for the company are very good at what they do and the product is good.
