Buy XWT08M 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless High Torque 1/2

It produces 740 ft.lbs. of fastening torque and 1,180 ft.lbs. of nut-busting torque when used with a BL Motor.

An adjustable three-speed power selection switch (0-900, 0-1,000, 0-1,800 RPM, and 0-1,800, 0,2,000, 0-2,200 IPM) allows for precise fastening control in a wide variety of applications.

At only 9 inches in length, this design is both compact and ergonomic.

Anvil with friction ring for quick and easy socket changes. 1/2″ anvil with friction rin.

Because the BL Brushless Motor does not require carbon brushes, it can operate at a lower temperature and more efficiently, resulting in a longer life.

Its high torque of 740 ft.lbs. fastening torque and 1,180 ft.lbs break-away torque, combined with its long run time and speed control, make it unrivaled in the fastening industry. It is equipped with an efficient Makita brushless motor, which provides longer run time, increased power and speed, and increased tool life overall. The electronic 3-speed power selection switch allows for more precise fastening control, and it is easy to operate. Various users, including iron and steel workers, pipe fitters, railroad and automobile mechanics, forming carpenters, and others, will find it to be an excellent fit.

I am extremely pleased with my purchase of an impact wrench. I was borrowing a Milwaukee Impact wrench from a friend in order to assist with removing the rear differential fill plug (which I could not get to budge with a breaker bar). The Makita XWT08M has a significant amount of torque. When removing rusted bolts, it is important to tighten them a little first before reversing out the gun because if the bolts are seized, the gun can and will break the bolts. So far, this tool has proven to be effective. I’ve never had to use the second battery because I only use it for high-torque applications such as removing axle nuts, brake pad carrier bracket bolts, differential fill plugs, and other similar items from the vehicle. It is heavy, but given the amount of torque it produces, this is to be expected.

In July 2016, I made the purchase of this tool, which has now been more than two years.

It is still in good working order. It has no trouble removing axle nuts from the axle. A lot of large diameter bolts were removed when I used this to replace suspension components (struts, control arms, linkages, wheel bearing hub assemblies), and it was very helpful in doing so. Get a good supply of impact sockets with these kits (wobbliers are included), and your DIY project will be that much easier to complete.
