Small Suggestion.
1-Bending Prism with two Radius V-grooves on one side. To make use of the optional radius, simply rotate the BENDING PRISM 180 degrees vertically.
2-Prior to packing, a protective coating is applied to the machine in order to keep it from rusting during transportation. A reminder that denatured alcohol is effective at removing it.

When I first gave it a bad review, I didn’t realize it was out of alignment until I mounted it to my workbench and noticed it. I’ve used many of these shear/brakes over the years while teaching jewelry and metals in various educational settings, and they’ve cost four times as much as this one. I teach art at a high school, where I teach jewelry and metals, and I am on a tight budget, so when I saw this one, I had to have it. To be completely honest, I didn’t expect too much for $169, but I was pleasantly surprised by what I got. Because it bends (brakes) so well, it is accurate and shears the metal as described. Soft metals such as sterling silver, copper, and aluminum are the only ones that can be used. It is limited to very thin metal — 20 gauge and below — but it is also limited to the most expensive metals. It is a good shear to use in a school because students have a tendency to push equipment to its limits, and if it is damaged, I would rather have spent $169 on a shear than $1000 on a different one.
