When I purchased this pen drive screwdriver, I hoped that it would relieve the pain my wrists were experiencing from the repetitive tasks that came with working with micro screws. And, for the most part, it has, sort of. As you might expect given its small size, it doesn’t have a great deal of torque. However, when trying to remove something from its original position, something that has been torqued down and become solid will not be removed easily. It will be necessary to manually turn the screw a small amount before the motor can be activated and the screw can be fully loosen.
Second minor quibble: for about 45 bucks and all of the different accessories (which are all the same accessories in both long and short versions), it isn’t a bad deal by any standards. The absence of a magnet in the driver’s receptacle is a major source of disagreement among consumers. With the inclusion of a magnetization block, I assume they have attempted to address this issue. Even so, it is mildly inconvenient to have to reapply magnetic force to the bit in order to save screws that, in some cases, require tweezers to remove from the board in order to save them. I wish they had included the small natural earth magnet in the base of the driver, but as it stands the product is.. okay……
It’s difficult to say that the product is excellent, but it’s also difficult to say that it’s terrible. Improved torque, natural magnets behind the bits, and a longer charge cable (perhaps an inch in length) could allow charging to take place at a reasonable distance are all possibilities. Overall, when comparing the price of this kit to the value you receive from more expensive kits, it is a reasonable investment. Because it does not technically make my wrists sound like rice krispies, as they did when I was doing all of the torquing manually, I would like to give this product a higher rating. Despite the above issues, I cannot say that this is a 100 percent quality product because I have the impression that the motor will burn out with every screw it removes from the board, which it hasn’t yet!
