This D-shaped backing plate for flat platten assembly has an even deeper reach than the previous one, making it ideal for slack belt grinding.
This plate is made of 3/8″ hot rolled steel that has been precision CNC cut.
The hole in the center is 1/2″ in diameter, the slots for a flat platten mounting bracket are 1/4″ wide and 6″ apart, and the u-shaped adjusting slot is 3/8″ in diameter and accepts a 3/8″ bolt or stud.
Work well on any 2×72″ belt grinder that has been professionally manufactured.

In addition, the steel was covered with an unusual material that I had to remove with a wire wheel when the package arrived wrapped like a piece of pre-frozen meat. The female threads were ragged, and it appeared that the tap had seen better days. Both of the bearing bolts were bent at the point where the thread transitioned to the bearing surface. It was necessary to replace it.
