The ARW1209 ratchet is heavy, but I haven’t used it to test its strength, so I’m returning it because it didn’t meet the product description.
Variable speed paddle with an electronic brake for control and flexibility: This is what Amazon says about it. In the manual, the variable speed feature is also talked about, too. However, the ARW1209 doesn’t have variable speed, and it doesn’t stop when you let go of the button. So if you can’t rotate the whole tool, there’s no way to gently move the socket into place with the nut or bolt. You can’t also move a piece of hardware slowly home instead of with full force.
Only 10 inches long, but “well-balanced and less than 2 pounds. My height was 10.7″ when I didn’t have the battery and 11.8” when I did. I weighed 2.35 lb without the battery and 2.75 lb with the battery.
Finally, the ratchet has an LED light to help you see what you’re doing, unlike some other tools that don’t have one. Other ratchets, on the other hand, light up the LED when you start to move the lever a little. This way, you can see as you move the socket onto the nut or bolt. You have to run the ratchet at full speed to get any light from the ARW1209. Having one speed, no brakes, and an on-off switch all make you want to push the socket on while the ratchet is running at full speed.
