Okay, so I’d love to buy a real drill press, but it’s not in the cards right now. But I did need something to help me drill consistent, straight holes, and this isn’t even close to cheap.

-Doesn’t cost anything at all.
CONS.
On the first time I used it, I clamped it to my workbench and broke the base in one corner. It was cheap.
The lowering arm has a strong spring in it, so it doesn’t move too much. The drill is very hard to move up or down very quickly.
As if you were a toddler in high heels on ice. Is it possible to drill straight holes? You’ll have to use your body and muscle to get it to go in the right direction. You can’t just bring your arm down and expect it to hit the same place again and again. It’s important to be careful when you have to get out of a hole and then come back in. You’ll need to go slowly, not just down, but also to the side and backwards.
I need it to do what I need it to do, but only just. The price was also right.
