This can valve is only compatible with the newer style self-sealing cans. All of my R134a refrigerant cans, including a 3 ounce oil recharge can, fit perfectly in this case, too. The all-brass construction looks even better in person than it does in the photograph. The valve operates without a hitch. This valve should NOT be used to “tap” the older style cans. Cans that self-seal already have a hole in the top of the can are ideal. The top of the can on the older cans is a solid flat metal surface that is solidly fastened together.
