An overview of what this item is abou.

Make sure your toolbox is up-to-date now. The AIRCAT 6255 Right-Angle Die Grinder has high-quality bearing surfaces, air chambers, and turbines that work well. The patented exhaust muffler/filter technology makes less noise while still giving the car more power and torque. This quiet, powerful tool is great for work and at home. AIRCAT makes top-of-the-line power tools that are great for any handyman or construction worker.

In addition, this power tool has 18,000 RPMs, a.4 HP motor, superior steel-grade internal bevel gears, a feather trigger for better speed control, and patented quiet technology (82 dBA). It also has ergonomically designed housing, a most comfortable trigger, and an ergonomic handle. It is great for high-speed blending, smoothing, porting, and deburring in small spaces.

The AIRCAT line is the most important development in pneumatic power tools in more than 30 years. Our company was started in 1998, and our tool line has a lot less noise while still having a lot more power and torque. AIRCAT also has a patented ergonomically engineered handle design that helps the operator’s hands, wrists, and arms be less stressed and tired. Most AIRCAT tools have the patented tuned-exhaust muffler technology, which allows air to pass through without causing back pressure. This allows more power to be kept and significantly reduces noise.

There is a Manufacturer.

All the power, no noise. The AIRCAT tool line has a lot less noise, but it still has a lot of power and torque. If our tools are used correctly, they should not make any noise at all. This is far below the OSHA guidelines. This feature is good for both the mechanic and the business as a whole. Patented muffler technology in all of the tools lets air flow freely without causing back pressure, allowing more power to be kept while making less noise. AIRCAT has innovated through-the-handle exhaust design, which incorporates its revolutionary worldwide patented internal muffler/filter. The benefits include reduced hazards from breathing exhausted air particulates, the elimination of blow-by into the operators eyes and lungs as well as reduce noise. AIRCAT also incorporates a patented ergonomically engineered handle design to relieve stress and fatigue on the operators hands, wrists and arms. The patented AIRCAT handle offers better overall distribution of weight for a balanced tool and provides a unique grip that makes it easier to use for prolonged periods of time. AIRCAT offers a full line of pneumatic tools, including impact wrenches, air ratchets, reversible drills, die grinders, and cut-off tools. Established 1998 in Spokane, Washington AIRCAT is a line of high quality pneumatic hand tools that incorporates the unique and multi-patented exhaust muffler/filter technology. The AIRCAT tool line has a substantially reduced level of noise while retaining more power and torque. The AIRCAT impact wrench line offers both twin hammer and twin clutch mechanisms. Okay, it didn’t last a month for me. But that month was about 4 to 6 solid hours each day of torture for it. Lesser brands wouldn’t have made it through the first week.

The grinder stalled on me once early on, as if the right angle gear head was in a bind, and something told me it wasn’t long for this world. I kept pulling the trigger and in a minute the tool became unstuck, so I kept using it, hard. I was using the correct air pressure, lubing it, and greasing the head every day.

So why give a tool that broke and had to be returned a five star rating? I’ve used air tools over 50 years now and with experience you really get a feel for what a tool is doing. My impression was that this was one that slipped past quality control or just was destined to be the bad one. The grinder otherwise screams (quietly) of quality and performed very well as long as I had it. When it finally quit it was a sudden stop and it was done, just as I suspected would happen at some point from that day it stalled.

I also have an AirCat straight mini die grinder, and it has been working flawlessly.

The claims about lower noise from these grinders are true, and that is really nice, even though I wear ear protection. They also run very smooth and have plenty of oomph. At first the reduced noise gives the impression that it’s not as powerful as others I have that are noisier, and that’s hard to get used to, but it works as hard as the other noisier grinders.

All said, even though it broke and I got a refund, the grinder would have paid it’s way with the amount of grunt it provided for the short time I had it. I would not have been disappointed if it broke after the time that I could have gotten a refund, and will likely buy another one next time I have a job requiring a second right angle die grinder – I have an old Dotco RA die grinder for day to day use, but some jobs go better with two grinders available so you don’t have to change burrs. When that job comes I’ll order another AirCat fully expecting it to perform. If it doesn’t, I’ll report on it.
