People say that the case gets scratched when it is used. In order to understand this, let me show you. You’re hitting a piece of metal with a hammer. It’s not going to be able to stand on its own. If they used too hard of a hardness for the case, it won’t break, but it could break and explode, which could hurt you. Metal will dent the more you hammer it. A safety feature has been added to the game. Great value for the money. if you use it the right way, the bits will last. Twisting and breaking the bit is now pulling them over their own limits. In the last few hours, I have hammered out 20 screws that have been stuck together for a while. It took them 38 years to get out of jail because they had a motorcycle case. This tool did a great job. With a full fledge sledge, you’ll break this tool. You should buy an impact gun if you want that kind of power. That’s not what this is for. It’s meant to be used with a hammer or other tool to get screws out ( an yeah a lot of what you call bolts are actually hex head screws, I work in industrial supply I know this as fact). not to be gentle with this tool, but don’t expect much when you use it outside of its design range. You should expect to damage the tool if you use it like a gun. It can’t handle big bolts. That said, this is a great tool when it is used properly and in the right way. As someone who works with motorcycles and other outdoor equipment, this is a must-have item. Then I’ll buy another case. Saves me money and is as strong as the 15 and 20 dollar models that are on the market. Not enough money to buy a boat, but I get to drink six packs of beer while I work. A victory for me, lol. A great tool for a great price. I’ll buy more of them in the future, as well.
It’s been almost 2021.
A little lube goes a long way. I just use some moly gear lube that’s been thinned out. So far, I’ve used it to take out about 1000 screws (small bolts). Beer, PB blaster, some heat, and this tool have been my one-two punch for all the stuck screws and bolts I’ve been breaking my knuckles to get off. Heat and tap, but not so hot that you get fire from it. Then PB. The smoke comes out and you tap it. Then you coat it and do some more. When you’re done, go out and drink some beer. Three is usually enough, but you can always drink more. If it doesn’t loosen up after a few whacks, you need more beer. I want to lightly heat and PB it again, this time with a little more smoke and heat, but not so much that it all boils away and starts a fire. Repeat the tap and beer steps over and over until it comes free. People who use this tool should remember not to drink PB Blaster and spray beer. It can be very bad for your health. This can be very dangerous.
