obviates the necessity of using timing cove. R&. I was unable to locate a KA timing chain tool when servicing the head. As a result, I purchased this L and Z series tool. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it works flawlessly with a KA24DE engine. The L or Z is not recommended because it is too short and may not reach the tensioner in sufficient time. My experience with the L and Z series has been positive; however, because the tensioner is located directly above the crank, a longer tool is always required. But it’s possible that it will work; I just don’t have any L/Z engines anymore. Because the tensioner is located at the top of the lower timing cover on the KA, it is a perfect fit. My Altima was in the shop for about a month while I rebuilt the head and performed other maintenance on it. More information and photographs can be found on my website.
