Buy Bench grinder pedestal stand by Palmgren

Heavy-duty cast iron is used for the base and top of the table.

The diameter of the adjustable steel column is 3-1/2″.

Quenching for the work piece is provided by the built-in water pot.

The design is unique in that it allows for mounting with four bolts.

Designed to accommodate bench grinders and bench buffers with diameters of 6″, 7″, 8″, and 10″, as well as 1″, 2″, and 4″ belt grinders.

4-Inch is the width of the jaw.

From the manufacturer, the jaw opening is 4 inches.

0.0002 inch precision ground for squareness and parallelism, with tolerances of =/-0.0002 inch per inch. On all five sides of this vise, it has been machined and ground to ensure accurate positioning for grinding and layout operations. The vise’s adjustment screws are made of steel and have a long bearing in the vise body. Fine grain cast iron with a tensile strength of 30,000 PSI is used to construct this product. Jaw plates made of steel that are replacements.

This is a very sturdy and well-constructed stand, especially considering the price. This is the only tool stand of this type that I have been able to locate that is both reasonably priced and actually quite sturdy. The pipe, as well as all of the cast iron pieces, is thick and extremely durable. The quality of this stand far surpasses that of any of the stands available at big box home improvement stores.

All of the parts are well-matched, and the heavy-duty screws hold everything together without the risk of breaking or bending the components. When you tighten the screws, the pipe will not deform or bend, as is the case with most other stands in this price range. The final product is extremely sturdy once assembled. The paint job is smooth and does not show any signs of flaking. The product photo shows a stand that is either black or dark gray, but the stand I received is a slightly more muted blue in color. No matter how you look at it, it is attractive and well-executed.

It was on this stand that I mounted my Yost 6″ forged vise. Unfortunately, the three-hole design of the vise didn’t quite match up with the holes in the stand in the exact location I desired, so I had to fix it with a drill. This stand is rock solid, and I used it to temporarily mount my old super heavy duty 8″ grinder on it. It worked perfectly. To be honest, it’s overkill for small, ultra-lightweight 6″ grinders like the Ryobi BG612G, which are designed to be small and lightweight.

The packaging of this product is the only real drawback to this product. UPS had completely destroyed the box when it arrived. I’m not sure how the finish didn’t get ruined or the parts didn’t get lost because the box was thrown away. The box’s structural rigidity must be increased by inserting internal cardboard or foam pieces, which will help to keep the box intact and protect the components during shipping and delivery.

The Palmgren stand with a Yost 6″ vise mounted on top and an 8″ grinder sitting on the water pot mount have been added in order to answer questions from a potential buyer. That is not how I intend to use it.)
