You can adjust the flush nailer with this aluminum flush nailer, which is very good. Hex wrench and set screws are included. It can be attached to the nailer’s nose either by thumb wing nuts or set screws (with an allen wrench). The Flush Drive is shaped like a “C” to protect the person who is using the nail gun. The “C” shaped design lets the nail pass through the nail gun without the flush drive getting in the way. The Flush Drive prevents nails from being overdriven so that the nail head is below the surface of the material. This can weaken the holding strength of the fastener and lead to early nail failures.
In the past, I used flush nailers for siding. When Hitachi guns didn’t have built-in flush nailers, I used them for years.
When I used to nail siding and exterior trim with my Hitachi framing gun, I didn’t have a stupid guard around the spring or a spring. I still have my 20-year-old Hitachi framing gun, though. I bought this flush nailer so I could use it to nail fence pickets together with ease. My old ones only had Alan screws to hold the push lever in place, which this one also has. But the thumb screws are faster. The thumb screws might get in the way if you had to nail in a tight space, but they’re a good thing to have.
The flush nailer didn’t fall off, and it looks like it’s going to last a long time.
